I greatly enjoyed reading these stories and articles on Kerala. They bring back childhood memories of a vanished era, of large farming tharavads where the landlord’s joint family and the families of his kudikidapukars lived and worked together, before radical land and labour reforms swept through rural Kerala, transforming its economic & social life forever.
In retrospect, seen perhaps though the rose tinted glasses of wishful thinking, it was an idyllic life, tranquil, leisurely and unbelievably close to nature.
